Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School Reviews

We have been more than delighted in the quality of this school. We will be sending our youngest child as well the next school year. From the teachers to the extra activities, I would highly suggest this school. The PTO is funding a brand new addition to the play field that will include a new basketball, volleyball and tennis court - there are constant improvements and changes. The environment is enriching and safe - a well rounded education and life experience.

The OLL website leads one to believe that the class sizes are small. One 5th grade this year(2007)has 28 students, a 3rd grade 24. Public schools in Fl. may have no more than 20 students. If a student comes to school without the proper uniform, they are forced to 'walk the line' during recess--walk along a painted line on the concrete. Scholastically the work is challenging, but the curriculum is behind the times with little opportunity for computer skills and contemporary concepts nonexistant. The school constantly has fundraisers asking parents to shell out more and more money. The play field is full of weeds and stickers.

'I sent my children to this school and they found a real community here. Everyone was so nice, they started going to youth group and volunteering with their free time. I also just heard that they are one of 50 schools in the nation that received the Blue ribbon award for excellence. I can not recommend this school enough.'

Academically, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is unmatched in the greater Daytona area. My kids love being involved in the band, plays, and basketball team. The PTO seems to be fairly involved, however I am not currently a member due to scheduling issues. Overall, we love Our Lady of Lourdes and feel our children will benefit from their time there for year to come.

My children transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes from another private school in Daytona Beach. The difference in the quality of education, teachers, and environment is like night and day. The faculty and staff are very involved with each student on an individual level and are dedicated to providing them excellence in education. My children have flourished in this rich environment and I am very pleased with our experience. Highly recommend!
