Spruce Creek Elementary School Reviews

Guardian of child attending: Excellent teachers and excellent parent involvement.

This is a great school. My son is in first grade now and the teachers have accurately assessed his strengths and weaknesses, and tailored his work to his needs. Many parents volunteer at this school on a weekly basis. The teachers, principals, a guidance counselors are highly visible on a daily basis. They are out every morning and afternoon when kids and parents are arriving and leaving. There are programs in art, music, sports. The school has special events almost monthly and sends home flyers on programs and events available in the community. This school gets high grades from the state of Florida consistently.

My girls have been going to this school for 3 years now and we love it! The teachers are great and the school really has a sense of community. We are looking to move soon, but I have to make sure my girls can continue to go to this school, that's how much we like it. No complaints.

My son went here 2 years ago. The school, cirriculum, and art, music, PE teachers were great. However his reg teacher was horrible. Only taught for 2 yrs and obviously had no experience with an ADHD child. She was so hard on the kids, she would take away their recess because they forgot their pencil. She made is so difficult that my son who loved to learn and had a 120 IQ, did not even want to try anymore. Finally after, grades dropping, and having a meeting with all the teachers, one that had experience with ADHD children gave some suggestions, which helped tremendously. Excellent school, but very disappointed in the teacher.

A very nice school. Good parent involvement. Very good teachers. This school is overcrowed but there is new school being built.

The 2004-2005 school year was the first year for our 3 sons to enter public schools. SCES was an excellent experience for us all! Our sons had previously been in a catholic school and we were worried about education and discipline at a public school. The administration and teachers at SCEC are fabulous! Any worries we had we gone within the first weeks of school! Our kids had no problems adjusting to the new school. They can't wait for the next school year to begin!

Very good school. Teachers listen, and they have many cultural activities.
