Florida Hospital & HospiceCare has introduced a new program to help hospice patients care for their pets while they are in the final stages of care. The national program, called "Pet Peace of Mind," allows patients to complete their life journey without having to worry about their pet's current or future needs. The Pet Peace in Mind initiative is offered by the Senior Pet Care Resource Network through non-profit hospices such as Florida Hospital and HospicesCare, and provides voluntary pet care services to patients who are unable to care for their dogs, cats and other animals while they are being treated in the hospital. These services include pet transportation to veterinary and nursing appointments, and pet-friendly activities.

You may know a veterinarian who can help you in an emergency, or you have been in a preferred emergency room in your city. With the above tips you can select a pet-friendly place where your pets can be returned for care. This program is recognized as one of the leading hospice programs in the United States and is supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). With a dedicated team of trained hospice specialists and patients who are part of our acute care inpatient department, we provide services to the needy. Students alternate between our two hospitals in Jacksonville and the University of Florida Medical Center in Orlando.
We also offer a pharmacy stay program accredited on campus by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. We offer a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and a Master's degree in Pharmacology, both offered by the University of Florida Medical Center School of Pharmacy.
